    Hello!!! Im really sorry this came so late!! But heres an entry on what we did two thursdays ago!!

    2 thursdays ago, we learnt about splits and diving! it was the first time some of us learnt diving and we had to do the diving exercise 2 times. The exercise was actually quite simple: One person had to chase after the ball carrier, and when the person with the ball was near the try line, she had to dive in order to avoid being touched! if the person was touched, she had to do 10 push ups! fortunately the exercise went quite well and no one was touched (i think). which is good!! (: even though the ground was quite hard which made diving rather painful...

    the 2nd thing we learnt was splits! this is a new move taught, and is suitable for use near the wing. the person with the ball (A) will run up and do a positive touch, then the dummy half will pick up the ball, draw the opponents, while A wil quickly run to the side (parallel to the dummy half) then the dummy half will do a low pass to A, so that A can dive and SCORE!!!! we did this exercise for quite some time to get the hang of it!

    Training ended earlier on that day, and all of us went back to hall together! (:

    Carnival is in a few days time, lets all perservere!!!!!! (:

    //

    hello hello! this post is for training on thursday, the one just before the friendly with TH! sorry for the late post, the lack of a computer is a great inconvenience :(

    anyway, training on thursday was mainly about defence! we learnt how to defend on the try line and did many back-five drills. the main things to remember about defence is:
    1) call out for your man
    2) move up as a line
    3) remember to back five and stand in a horizontal line
    4)do not run backwards when backing five!
    5) keep your hands outstretched
    6) remember to cover for each other when our teammate moves up to touch the opponent

    we still need much improvement on our back-five, because there were many times during the friendly with the guys when some of us were offside, or we backed too slowly. and sometimes we don't know how far back to go, but it has been standardised at six steps backwards.

    we also revised the loops and switches that we have learnt, and then did pt to end off the training because its been a really looong time since we did pt! lets brace ourselves for more to come according to wendy! hope to see more people coming down for training this week especially since this is the last week of holidays (boohoo) and the first 16 will be chosen in this period of time! SEE YOU!
